Our PrintingPress 6.0 design heralds spring with its fresh color combination and floral design. We started by adding crisp green Irish Bells to the bottom left corner of the White 4 x 6 inch custom cut card. Next, we added the couple’s names in navy blue using all capital letters in the Palatino Linotype font that is included with Windows. We joined the names using an ampersand which we matched to the Irish Bells using the Sample Color tool. We used the Indent Text Left setting in the Paragraph palette to move the text over to the left. Next, we added the rest of the invitation text in green using all lowercase letters. We increased the Indent Text Left setting to move the text further to the right. Since the Irish Bells run off the bottom edge of the invitation, we used our printer’s borderless printing feature. We used a double-stick tape gun to layer the invitation onto a Metallic Navy 4.25 x 6.25 inch custom cut card and then onto a Margarita A7 card. Next, we mounted the set onto the inside of a Metallic Navy Pocket Folder in the A8 Portrait (no flap) size. We continued the design theme onto the White A7 directions insert and the White 4-Bar |

response card. We created a seal for the outside of the Pocket Folder using a White 4-Bar card. We created a folded card in PrintingPress 6.0 and added the same design to both panels of the card. When PrintingPress 6.0 prints the card, it flips the Outside Back panel of the card so that the Irish Bells will print at the top edge of the card and not run onto the other half of the card. We used our printer’s borderless printing feature to print the card and then used a rotary trimmer to cut the card in half to separate the 2.5 x 3.5 inch seals. We used a double-stick tape gun to layer the seal onto a Metallic Navy 2.75 x 3.75 inch custom cut card and a Margarita 3 x 4 inch custom cut card, and then mounted the set onto the outside of the Pocket Folder. We created Custom Envelope Liners for the Pewter envelopes and added coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps.

If you crave cool elegance, check out our PrintingPress Platinum 6.0 design featuring our Natural Cotton cards for a thick, luxurious feel. We started by adding a custom background to a Natural Cotton A7 card. Next, we added the couple’s initials in grey using the Palatino Linotype font. Next, we used a floating text box to add a vertical bar “|” to separate the names. We added several returns beneath the initials and then added two lines of underscores “_” to create horizontal lines. We added the couple’s names using the Palatino Linotype font in all uppercase letters and then added the rest of the invitation text in grey using the Isabelle font from Fonts & Graphics 2. We repeated the design on the Natural Cotton 4-Bar card and lined the White envelopes in Celery. We added coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps with the couple’s initials and wedding date to complete the look.

Our PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 invitation is bold and playful, also featuring our Natural Cotton stock. We started by adding a border to a Natural Cotton A7 card with an orange faux seersucker pattern using the Custom Pattern tool. We used a border (rather than a background) to add the pattern to use less ink since the card will be covered by other layers. Since the pattern runs to the edge of the card, we used our printer’s borderless printing feature. Next, we added the couple’s initials in a floating text box to a Natural Cotton 3.5 x 5.5 inch custom cut card. We filled the initials in an orange striped custom pattern and filled the ampersand in solid orange. We rotated the text box to the left and placed it on the left side of the card. Next, we added the invitation text in a grey and |

orange using the Palatino Linotype font and the Alyssa Afternoon font from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings. We used a double-stick tape gun to adhere the invitation to a Mandarin Orange 3.75 x 5.75 inch custom cut card and mounted the set onto the patterned backing card. We used patterned and solid letters to add “RSVP” on the left side of the Natural Cotton 4-Bar response card. We used floating shape objects to create orange circles for the guest to check. We used the patterned initials on the front of the response envelope and in a fun return address placement on the bottom left of the invitation envelope. We lined both envelopes in Mandarin Orange. We also added the initials and wedding date to the coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps.

Wedding stationery
While the wedding invitation is the most important stationery for a wedding, it is far from the only stationery you will need. While ceremony programs are optional, they are a wonderful way to let your guests know the flow of the ceremony as well as the names of your attendants and other important participants. We have created gorgeous new designs to help you print yours in a snap. We created coordinating menus and table place cards to let you carry your stationery style throughout your wedding day.

For simple elegance with a touch of whimsy, try our PrintingPress 6.0 design. We created the two-sided program using Ecru 4.25 x 11 inch cards. On the front of the program we wrote “today Carrie & Topher are tying the knot” in brown and pink. We wrote “today” in pink using the Alyssa Afternoon and Alyssa Black Tie fonts from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings. For an extra touch of sophistication, we added a flourish graphic to the end of the “y” in “today.” We used the Palatino Linotype font for the rest of the text and tied a raffia knot in the middle of the program. We added the wedding date and location in pink at the bottom of the program. We added the ceremony and wedding party details on the back of the card. We used the same design for the Ecru 4 x 10 inch custom cut menu cards and for the Ecru place cards.

Our PrintingPress Platinum 6.0 design is modern with a retro flair. We created a two-sided program using a White Square card. We used a floating text box to add the couple’s initials and wedding date to the front of the program. We used the Courier New font that is included with Windows for a retro, old fashioned typewriter feel, and added a grey background to the text box with the background’s Shape set to Oval. We set the size of the text box to 2 x 2 inches to make it into a circle and centered it horizontally on the card. We added the wedding date and location in red using the Arial font that is included with Windows at the bottom of the program. On the back of the program, we listed the ceremony and wedding party information using grey and red text. We used the same design for the White Square menu cards and White 4 x 4 inch custom cut flat square place cards.

If you crave color, then our PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 design is perfect for you. We filled the background of the front and back of the White A8 Slim folded card with a new wicker (white on black) pattern and then used the Colorize feature to turn the pattern blue. You can easily change the design to use any color scheme that you like using the Colorize feature. For tips on using the Colorize feature, see this month’s Extreme Tip. We added the couple’s names to the bottom of the program cover using a floating text box with the Make white transparent setting disabled so that the text box remains opaque. We typed the names in blue using the Trebuchet font that is included with Windows and joined the names using a grey ampersand in the Courier New font. We added the wedding date in grey using the Trebuchet font in italics. We added a grey custom border to the text box with the border’s Shape set to Double Line (Top/Bottom). We added a blank text box to the back of the program so that the white stripe continues across the design. On the inside of the program, we added the couple’s names at the top using floating text boxes. We added custom backgrounds to the text boxes to fill them in blue and wrote the names in white. We listed the ceremony |

information on the left side and used the columns feature to list the wedding participants on the right side. Since the design runs to the edge of the card, we used our printer’s borderless setting to print onto the 8 x 10 inch folded cards. For a fun twist, we created personalized stationery as place cards that also double as favors. We created place cards in PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 and set the place card size to 5 x 7 inches. We added a custom border to the place card with the border’s Shape set to Line (Bottom) and set the border’s width to 3.625 inches. We copied the border and text style from the text box on the front cover of the program and applied it to the Guest Name text box on the place card. Since the design runs to the edge of the card, we used our printer’s borderless feature to print onto White 4-Bar folded cards. Pair 10 cards with Pewter 4-Bar envelopes, tie with a ribbon and it will look gorgeous on the plate. We created coordinating menus using White 4 x 10 inch cards. We added the couple’s names in a floating text box on the left side of the card, and the meal is listed in the center of the card. We used the 2-up feature to print two menu cards onto White custom cut 8 x 10 inch cards using our printer’s borderless printing feature, and then separated the cards using a rotary trimmer.

A change of color
PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 offers many tools to let you change the color of an image, and the Colorize tool is a powerful option. The Colorize tool lets you replace all of the color in your image with a new color. All of the black in the original image is replaced with the specified color, and all lighter areas in the image are replaced with lighter versions of the new color. To Colorize an image, click on the image to select it and then click on the Colorize button in the Adjust palette in the Design palette group.

To Colorize a pattern, select the object using the pattern and click on the Colorize button. In this month’s Extreme Programs & Place Cards project, we Colorized a pattern in a border for the place card stationery, so we clicked in the stationery and clicked on the Apply to Border button. If you have a patterned background as well, click in the stationery to select the stationery and disable the Apply to Border setting.
Click on the Match RGB button to choose the color that you would like to use. All of the color in your image or pattern will be replaced by the selected color.

NOTE
Black images colorize to the exact color you select. White images cannot be colorized because they are already as light as possible for any color. To change the color of a white or other light color image, use the Selective Color tool described in the October 2010 Extreme Tip.
