If your Mom has a strong sense of style, check out our PrintingPress Platinum 6.0 design. A bold yellow oversized handbag sits at the top of a White A7 card. We used a floating text box to add Mom’s initial in white for an extra personalized touch. We rotated the text box and added the Italic style to make the initial follow the perspective of the bag. We added Mom’s full name at the bottom of the card in grey using the Palatino Linotype font that is included with Windows. We added the bag and name to the front of a White A2 folded note card and paired the cards with Pewter envelopes lined in Yellow. The coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps complete the look.

Our PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 design is fun and playful, and can easily be changed to use Mom’s favorite color. We combined a shape filled with a Colorized pattern and a “mask” umbrella image to create a fabulous patterned umbrella. The mask image includes the umbrella handle and a white background with an empty center in the shape of the open umbrella. So when the mask image is placed over the patterned shape, the pattern shows through in the shape of the umbrella. We added Mom’s name using the Palatino Linotype font, writing the first name in blue using all lowercase letters with the Italic style. We wrote the last name in dark brown using all uppercase letters without a space between the names. We created Custom Envelope Liners using the same pattern in the umbrella to pair with the Chocolate envelopes. The umbrella also makes an appearance on the coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps.

For an invitation with a sophisticated feel, try our PrintingPress Platinum 6.0 design. We added a background image of a silhouette of a stylish pregnant woman holding a pink umbrella and oversized handbag to a White A7 card. We added the invitation text in grey using the Isabelle font from Fonts & Graphics 2. We added the mom-to-be’s name in pink using the Palatino Linotype font in all uppercase letters. We lined the Pewter envelopes in Pink Lemonade and added the pink umbrella to the coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps.

No problem! We created green and blue versions as well.

Our PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 design features a family of bicycles with a brand new baby tricycle riding across the top of a Natural Cotton A7 card. The thickness of the Natural Cotton card adds a touch of elegance to the whimsical design. We used PrintingPress Extreme 6.0’s Colorize feature to make the mom & dad bicycles grey and the tricycle green, so you can easily customize the design to use any color scheme. We added the invitation text in grey using the Palatino Linotype font in all uppercase letters. We added the mom-to-be’s name in italics in green using all lowercase letters. The mommy bicycle speeds along the back flap of the envelope with the return address. We lined the Pewter envelopes in Avocado and added coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps.

Mastering layers
PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 lets you layer floating images above and below the main text area of your stationery. When working with multiple layered floating objects, the tools in the Align palette help you move the objects up and down in the layer order. This is especially helpful when your floating objects are layered directly on top of each other, making it difficult to click on the object on the “bottom.”

In this month’s Extreme Mother’s Day design, we created a patterned umbrella using a mask image and a shape object filled with a pattern. To change the color / pattern for the umbrella, first click on the mask image to select it.

Next, click on the Move to Back button in the Align palette to move the mask image behind the shape object.

Now click on the shape object to fill the shape with any color or pattern. In the example below, we used the Colorize feature to change the color of the pattern.

Then click on the Move to Back button in the Align palette to move the shape behind the mask image again.
